Hello there, I’m Mallory.

I’ve always felt fascinated by children, particularly when they’re in their pre-k wonder years, between learning to walk and heading off to school. They are sponges for words, ideas, and behaviors, and their imaginations are oh so bright. In their worlds, they can become inventors, musicians, artists, astronauts, and athletes in a matter of minutes.

And their intent is so pure – they’re not pre-occupied by what others think, and they’re often not aware that I have a camera in hand. They’re not worried about what their hair or expression looks like. That sweet spot of childhood is what I hope to capture and preserve.

I recently watched a film where the characters were discussing all of those precious “lasts” in our lives. As a parent, the last time you rock your little one to sleep. As a child, the last time you take your bike out just for fun, with no destination in mind. We don’t realize these are our lasts until we’re looking at them through the rearview mirror.

I look forward to working with you and your little one, and capturing those moments before they’re the “last.”

A young child with brown hair wearing a light-colored, striped pajamas standing barefoot in a puddle on a paved surface outside a house with dark siding and white window trim. A white picket fence is in the background.

I treasure this image from my own childhood. I was outside my great-grandparents' home, which they had built in Cape Cod, a place I absolutely loved being at. I was in my own world, enjoying the act of exploring. I also love the setting and outfit, as both feel timeless. These are the images I want to create. These are the stories I want to tell.

A little P.S….

Collage of five photographs featuring a woman with a camera at various locations and dates, including Oxford, England 2010; Portland, Oregon 2013; Vancouver BC, Canada 2025; Lusaka, Zambia 2013; Florence, Italy 2009.

P.P.S…

This isn’t my first rodeo.

I’ve been photographing children since I was one myself, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of capturing a number of different stories and people—commercial businesses, weddings, families, and non-profits. You name it. I’ve probably photographed it.

I hold an M.A. from King’s College London, where I wrote my dissertation on the business practices of artisans in a medina in Morocco. I’m grateful for every experience that’s shaped the way I see—each one has taught me something new and helped me view the world through a different lens.

Art, people, culture, and travel have always captivated my curiosity, and I’m grateful for the vision and renewed energy to capture my all-time favorite subject—little ones in their wonder years. ✨
