Hello there, I’m Mallory, the founder of House of Felix.
I’ve always felt fascinated by children, particularly when they’re in their pre-k wonder years, between learning to walk and heading off to school.
They are sponges for words, ideas, and behaviors, and their imaginations are oh so bright. In their worlds, they can become inventors, musicians, artists, astronauts, and athletes in a matter of minutes.
And their intent is so pure – they’re not pre-occupied by what others think, and they’re often not aware that I have a camera in hand. They’re not worried about what their hair or expression looks like. That sweet spot of childhood is what I hope to capture and preserve.
I recently watched a film where the characters were discussing all of those precious “lasts” in our lives. As a parent, the last time you rock your little one to sleep. As a child, the last time you take your bike out just for fun, with no destination in mind. We don’t realize these are our lasts until we’re looking at them through the rearview mirror.
I look forward to working with you and your little one, and capturing those moments before they’re the “last.”
